DAN TYMINSKI, LORETTA LIVE, AND THE RETURN OF MARK CHESNUTT AND REBECCA LYNN HOWARD
Notable new releases include WHEELS, Dan Tyminski's second solo album. Tyminski is a member of Union Station, the band that backs Alison Krauss, but is better known, or at least his voice is, as the vocalist on "I'm A Man Of Constant Sorrow," from the movie O Brother, Where Art Thou.
Joining Tyminski on WHEELS Are special guests Vince Gill, Ron Block, and Cheryl & Sharon White.
Mark Chesnutt's long-delayed album is finally in stores. "ROLLIN' WITH THE FLOW' was originally set for relelase last fall, but was continually pushed back to a June 24 date. It's all new material by Chesnutt, although the title cut has been played on radio since last summer.
The newest addition to TimeLife's "Legend's Live" series is a collection of 14 of Loretta Lynn's early "Grand Ole Opry"
performances. It includes a duet with Ernest Tubb.
Rebecca Lynn Howard's second album comes 6 years after her debut in 2002. "NO RULES" is an electic mix of styles including Country, R&B, Rock and Americana. Howard's resume' includes contributions to the inspirational compilation SONGS 4 WORSHIP, and the Louvin Brothers tribute "LIVIN' LOVIN' LOSIN'."
As a songwriter, she has penned hits for Reba Mcentire, Patty Loveless, Trisha Yearwood and John Michael Montgomery.
PATRIOTIC COUNTRY VOL. 3 is a 17 song collection with contributions from Kenny Rogers, Waylon Jennings, Keni Thomas, Merle Haggard and Kenny Chesney and others.

ALL I INTENDED TO BE is Emmylou harris's first solo album since 2003's STUMBLE INTO GRACE. It's her third album on "Nonesuch records" and reunites (professionally) Harris with Brian Ahern who produced her first 11 albums.
"All I Intended To Be" is a mixture of orginal material and some of Harris' favorite songs recorded over the past four period. Two of the songs-"Gold" and "Not Enough"-she wrote solo, and 2 others were cowritten with longtime friends Kate and Anna McGarrigle, who also sing on the collaborations.
Other old friends lending their talents include Dolly Parton, Vince Gill, John Starling, Mike Auldridge and Buddy Miller.
Montgomery Gentry's latest offering is "Back When I Knew It All" on Columbia Nashville. We don't have any deatils other than the title song is their latest single.
Billy Bob Thornton has a new album titled "BoxMasters."
Three-time International Bluegrass Music Association award winners, The Infamous Stringdusters sophomore album is
self-titled and features all new material. It was produced by the "Stringdusters" and Tim O'Brien.
Live albums from two country music legends are now available:
Merle Haggard and the Strangers "Live at Concord Pavilion" is 55 minutes plus with 16 songs including the classics
"Hungry Eyes, Okie From Muskogee, The Fighting Side of Me," and hits from later in Hag's career--"Kern River, Chill Factor and Footlights."
Charlie Pride's "Kiss an Angel Good Morning, Classic Concert Collection" contains most of his biggest hits, though many are included in a medley. The collection also features two Kris Kristofferson songs, "Help Me Make It Through The Night" and "Me and Bobby Mcgee."
Jim Reeves continues to be a good seller 43 years after his death, and there's a pretty good 3-CD collection just released that provides a summary of his career. Early hits like "Mexican Joe" and "Bimbo" are included along with songs released posthumously. There is one big negative-his biggest hit "He'll Have To Go" is not included.
Jewel has released her first 'country' album on May 27. "Perfectly Clear" on Big Machine Records features song the artist wrote when she was 18, along with the current single, "Stronger Woman."
Another debut album this week is "Thankful" from Jennifer Hanson. You can't get it in stores yet, as it is a download only release.
Hanson is a native of Southern California who has already had some success as a songwriter. She wrote The Wreckers,
"Leave the Pieces," and Bucky Covington's first hit "A Different World."
Neal McCoy's hits are now on one collection. The Very Best of Neal McCoy was also released this week.
NEW GEORGE JONES COLLECTION
TimeLife has released "Legends of American Music: George Jones." It's a 3-CD 60 song retrospective that highlights his 53 year career. It begins with his 1955 chart debut "Why Baby Why," and includes his biggest hits along with duets with Tammy Wynette, Melba Montgomery, Merle Haggard, Johnny Paycheck and others.
Recent releases:
A 2-Cd collection of Toby Keith's 35 biggest hits is a retrospective covering 15 years from his debut on Mercury Records, "Shoulda Been A Cowboy" to his current single "She's A Hottie" on his own Showddog label.
Dierks Bentley takes a pause for a 5 year retrospective of his own. "Greatest Hits/Every Mile A Memory 2003-2008" is made up of
hits and fan favorites.
Then there's the Bellamy Brothers "Number One Hits," Ray Stevens Greatest Hits; 50th Anniversary Collection" and Hal Ketchum's "Greatest Hits."
"Best of Sawyer Brown" and "The Very Best of Confederate Railroad" are also new this week.
There is one new music release this week. Jason Matthews' "Hicotine" features his debut single "That's What Mamas Do."
Martina McBride's live concert CD/DVD is now available.
"Martina McBride: Live in Concert" includes an 8 song live CD and a 20 song live concert DVD . The DVD has all her hits and 3 songs from "Timeless", McBride's classic country song tribute.
The concert was recorded last September in Moline, Illinois for PBS' "Great Performances" which is airing until the end of the month.
Three album reissues from Mel Tillis have been released. "Me and Pepper" is an Elektra album featuring two top 10 hits, "Blind In Love," and "Lying Time again."
"Southern Rain", a CD reissue features the number 1 hit title track, and "Your Body is an Outlaw" from 1980 features the top ten "Steppin' Out" and the #2 hit title tune.
Other recent re-issues include two each from Randy Travis and Willie Nelson, along with Dolly-Waylon-Dwight-A Possum and Steve Earle.
"Storms of Life," Randy Travis' 1985 breakout album is now on CD. It includes the hits On The Other Hand, Diggin' Up Bones
and 1982.
"Always and Forever" from 1987 features Too Gone Too Long, Forever and Ever Amen and I Told you So.
Willie's "Shotgun Willie" album from 1973 is where you"ll find the original studio recordings of Stay All Night, Stay A Little Longer, Johnny Bush's "Whiskey River" and Willie"s song about his drummer Paul English- Devil In a Sleeping Bag.
"Phases and Stages" was released in 1974 and features Bloody Mary Morning, Pick Up the Tempo and It's Not Supposed To Be
That way.
Those of you who 'Just love Dolly,' will be happy to learn that her 1980 album Dolly, Dolly Dolly is now available on CD.
It includes the one her best offerings Starting Over Again, along with Old Flames Can't Hold A Candle to You.
The Taker/Tulsa, an early Waylon Jennings Album from the turn of the 70's has now been released on CD. In addition to The Taker the album includes Don't Let The Sun Set On You In Tulsa, and Mississippi Woman.
Dwight Yoakam's 1988 album "Buenos Naches From a Lonely Room," is also out on CD. It includes the Title Song plus
"I Got You" and "Streets of Bakersfield."
A deluxe 2-CD edition of Steve Earle's 1988 album "Copperhead Road" includes the original album plus previously unreleased 'live' tracks from a 1987 concert in Raleigh, North Carolina. Other live tracks from shows in 1988 and 1989 are included.
This one may have limited appeal because of its price (29.99), but you get a 24 page booklet in addition to the music.
And just for fun, we recommend "The Possum Tapes-on CD. It's 15 songs, Bluegrass style, that relate to most things possum.
Previously available only on cassette tape (thus the title), featured artist include Jim & Jesse, Jimmy Martin and Carl Jackson. We're particularly fond of Bobby Osborne's rendition of "Mama's Not Dead, She's Just Playing Possum."
With the possible exceptions of Willies, Randy's and Dolly, you aren't likely to find these at the big box stores. If you have a regular music retailer in you area, check with them. They may have it in stock, and if not, can probably get them for you.
If all else fails, conduct an online investigation.

COMING UP
Johnny Bush announced plans to release a new album that will feature friends Ray Price and Willie Nelson.
"Young at Heart" will contain the most current recordings of the late Calvin Owens. Owens arranged two tracks for the album, "Whiskey River" and "Free Soul." "Whiskey River" is Owen's last recorded arrangement. He also provided trumpet solos on three other songs.
Other guests include arrangers Paul English, Willie's longtime drummer, and Nelson Mills, along with two former members of Ernest Tubb's Texas Troubadours, pedal steel guitar player Buddy Emmons, lead guitarist Leon Rhodes.
The project includes one song with Bush, Price and Nelson together. Bush and Willie do two songs together, while Price and Nelson each will be featured on a solo track.
The album is being produced by Bush, Nelson and Andy Bradley. It will be released in Midsummer on Willie's Pedenales records.
