Gospel Music Legend Dottie Rambo was killed early Sunday morning (5/10), when her tour bus wrecked enroute to a concert in Texas. More details HERE.

EDDY ARNOLD PASSES AWAY
Country Music Hall of Fame member Eddy Arnold died
Thursday morning at an asisted living faciltiy near Nashville.
Arnold sold more than 85 million records starting in 1944. One reason for his great success is that he was one of the few early country artist to cross over to the pop music charts. 37 of Eddy Arnold's singles became both country and pop hits.

WAYLON WITH JERRY 'JIGGER' BRIDGES ON BASS GUITAR
Jerry Bridges, who we know as 'jigger' was the long-time bass player for Waylon Jennings and is still active in the music business.
He'll be coming back to Stearns with his band Townsend and O'Donnell on July 5 for The Coal Miners Jamoboree.
He'll be on a Country Turnpike show before the appearence to fill in the details and talk about what he's been up to lately.

KITTY WELLS TO GET HALL OF FAME EXHIBIT
An exhibit honoring Kitty Wells, Country Music's first female superstar, will open at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in August.
Her 1952 recording of "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels" sold more than 800 thousand copies and spent six weeks at the top of Billboard's country singles chart.
Wells success dispelled the myth that female aritsts could not sell records and helped to create opportunities for the long line of female superstars who followed.
Kitty Wells, who will be 89 on August 30, was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1976.
TWO OAKS HONORED
Ttwo Oak Ridge Boys were given honors for their writing talents recently.
Joe Bonsall and William Lee Golden were recognized
by New Leaf Press for books they have authored.
Bonsall was acknoledged with a plaque and a special edition book to commerate 100 thousand copies sold of his non-fiction work GI. Joe and Lillie.
Golden was presented with the first copy of his new children's book, "Noah, Didn't It Rain" which will be released later this spring. The book tells the story of Noah and is based on the 'Oaks' current Contemporary Christian radio single, "Didn't It Rain."
HARRIS-STONEMAN INDUCTED INTO HALL
The Country Muisic Hall of Fame held the formal induction and Medallion Ceremony of two of this year's
honorees Sunday night (4/27).
Emmylou Harris and Ernest V. "Pop" Stoneman were inducted into the Hall of Fame with music and stories by Vince Gill, Patty Griffin, Sam Bush, Old Crow Medicine Show and others.
Fellow inductees Tom T. Hall and the Statler Brothers will be officially inducted on June 29.
MORTAR ATTACK INTERRUPTS TOBY KEITH SHOW
Toby Keith and his band came under mortar fire during
a show on their USO tour of the Middle East.
People.com reported that Keith was performing at a base in Kandahar, Afganasistan when the show was
interrupted by the attack last Thursday (4/24).
He and the band took shelter about 100 yards away in a concrete bunker. After the all clear was given Keith & company returned to the stage and finished the show.
This is Toby Keith's sixth USO tour in the region.
CHESNEY CONTINUES TOUR, GETS NEW BOOTS
Kenny Chesney's "Pirates and Poets" tour continued with a show in Austin, Texas where we was given a pair of steel-toed boots.
The morning team from KASE Radio presented Chesney
with the boots backstage before the concert.
Chesney took them out on stage with him to show the crowd. No word if he actually put them on.
He was injured at the opening of the first show on the tour in Columbia South Carolina when his foot became stuck in an elevator platform that was taking him up to the stage. After playing the entire show, doctors had to cut the boot off his foot to treat the injury.
Doctors did not find any broken bones.
